St. Andrew’s Village set to open in Spring

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A micro-village that provides safe, transitional shelter for homeless adults was opened Saturday in Portland by the non-profit We Shine.

The preview of St. Andrew’s Village, the third of its kind, offered a tour of the 10-unit community at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 7600 N. Hereford. Among those at the preview was Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek.

This micro-village will prioritize people who are LGBTQ, indigenous and people of color aged 45 and older, plus those of any age with a physical disability.

St. Andrew’s Village is set to open later this spring.
