Volunteering at WeShine
We believe that meaningful volunteer relationships are built on trust — and trust takes time.
The villagers we walk alongside are unsheltered adults who deserve to feel safe, respected, and in control of who enters their space. That’s why we’re intentional about how, when, and who we invite in — and why we’re taking the time to thoughtfully redesign our volunteer program with Trauma Informed Care at its foundation. We want to get it right.
At the moment, we don’t have any active village site or villager-facing volunteer roles open, but we’re continuing to grow and evolve as an organization, and that can change. If you’re someone who’s in it for the long haul and shares our values, we’d love to stay connected. Reach out to volunteers@weshinepdx.org and we’ll be in touch as things develop.
Join Our Board!
While we’re redesigning our on-site volunteer program, there is one way to make a direct and lasting impact right now: joining our Board of Directors or a Board committee.
WeShine is led by an all-volunteer, working Board, and we’re actively looking to expand. We value diversity of thought, perspective, and experience, and we’re seeking new members who will bring fresh ideas and backgrounds to the table — whether that’s professional expertise, lived experience, or community connections.
Board terms are two years and are renewable up to two terms. New Board members will be selected in April 2026, with onboarding beginning in May.
